How to Play
The game runs in ZIM's Discord on a monthly cycle, with a winning team announced at the end. Upon starting, players are randomly assigned a team and work together to gather items from Internet and pop culture, to win the game for their faction with the top unique item score. The teams are Angels, Demons, Pirates, or Ninjas,
The Hunt | One of the core mechanics in the game is the ability to Hunt for unique items. Each team's unique item score is supported by it's players searching for new and undiscovered items. Items have flavour text that can be brought up with the View command and links on the bag page which allow for further exploration.
Your Bag | Each player's Bag is central to the game. This is where all of their possessions are held. An important game tactic is learning to view other player's bags and then either work with them to swap items (trading) or instead attempt to take their items by force (robbery).
Teamwork | Given a portion of the game's items are limited to specific factions, winning will also requires a mix of teamwork, trading, and robbery. You may view a list of commands by typing !actions at any time. It's important to get to know your fellow players and band with them against enemy factions.
Full list of Twitch chat commands (type 'a all' in chat):
Territory | Corresponding with the 4 factions, there are separate territories by the same name. Two key commands exist in this space, so that players may Invade enemy territory and Flee when in danger to return to their home turf (or run from it). Example: ii d)
Stumble | While hunting, it is possible to randomly cross into foreign territory. This is denoted by a text alert to the player, after triggering a new hunt. When this occurs, your character will be given 30 minutes to hunt on foreign grounds. This permits players the double-edged opportunity to find faction-specific items while at the same time exposing themselves to the threat of becoming a victim of an attack from a sly enemy player.
Weapons | Items with the 'weapon' trait are denoted by an axe icon in the Inventory and the total weapons held by a player serve to bias outcomes of attempted robberies both initiated by and against the player. These are a measure of 'power' in the game and as such can be considered to be the net 'threat' level of another player's character. This also indicates how well the player will stand up in a battle without allies to support them, such as when roaming into enemy territory on their own.
Robbery | Players may attempt to Rob others in their current territory. There is a 50% chance a successful rob will be taken from the last 5 items recently acquired by their opponent. Odds of success will be stacked in their favour provided they have more combined a) allies and b) weapons than their opponent. In this respect, coordinating raids on enemy players is wise. Note: Players who are overpowered with respect to their foes get nerfed outside of their home territory. This serves as new player protection, so weaker players can rest easy. But, watch out for stumbling into the hands of high powered opponents on their own turf. They're full powered at home.
Walls | Any team member may contribute to the team's home territory defences by using the Wall < X > command, where X is any number of rocks. The team's wall acts as a defensive structure by stalling incoming rob attempts. Each 1 rock used in building the wall will absorb 5 attempted robs with a cool down of 1 minute before the next attempt can be made. (Note: Groups of attackers will be able to level the wall faster than a single assailant.)
Sleep | To keep an eye on chat but put your character to sleep, you can use our ZZZ command to sit out of the game. To re-join, just type AAA. However, please note there is a long cool down on this (currently 15 minutes), so be careful to trigger it only when you're serious about snoozing.
Tip 1 | Having a difficult time getting started because existing players are ganging up on you? Try to find a lull in the day to log in and hunt a few times. Having a weapon and some allies around greatly enhances your defensive capabilities. Also, if you've got rocks to spare, why not hold onto them and use them defensively. That should buy you time for a few hunts vs. would-be attackers.
